VALUES & PRIORITIES

As a father, grandfather, third generation DeSoto resident, and local business owner, Kenny Gingles knows the importance of safety. Whether they’re young or old, rich or poor, Kenny believes that everyone deserves to live in a community that protects them. That’s why, as a seasoned member of DeSoto’s law enforcement community with over two decades of experience in the force, he's spent his career leading from the front in the fight to make our Parish safer.

Now, Kenny is running for Sheriff to ensure that crime never pays. He’s committed to building a more efficient, unified, structured, and accessible law enforcement community so that serious threats are stopped before becoming disasters. And he’s determined to streamline the entire operation so that our hard-earned tax dollars are used as efficiently and effectively as possible. This will be a challenging task, no doubt. But Kenny is the right man for the job. He has proven for decades that he has experience, work ethic, and faith to see it through to the end.

To accomplish this goal, Kenny’s platform focuses on key areas of weakness he witnessed firsthand during his decades-long tenure on the force. First, he'll fight to expand police coverage beyond the cities to reach the full parish so that all of us can feel secure regardless of where we live. He’ll also work to restore the force’s morale, correcting inconsistent policies and making sure that deputies look out for one another both on- and off-duty. Moreover, he’ll patch gaps and rebuild inefficiencies in our law enforcement community that currently allow valuable taxpayer dollars to be wasted on programs that hemorrhage money. Finally, he’ll take the lead in strengthening and structuring programs that guarantee coverage for DeSoto’s elderly and vulnerable so that everyone feels respected and protected by the department sworn to guard them.
